Many UAE occasions are women-only, and privacy there is not a detail but the condition on which the whole event succeeds. Most problems have nothing to do with the design — they are about sequencing, timing, and who enters when.

Installation finishes before arrival, not during it

The first rule: the setup completes and the team withdraws before the first guest arrives, not as she arrives.

That means fixing a clear finish time in the agreement — not only a start time — and leaving at least an hour of margin. Last-minute changes are what usually break this, so agree that they are settled before that point.

What happens if something needs fixing mid-event

This question is always forgotten and happens often: a fixture fails, a fabric comes loose. Agree the mechanism in advance: who is told, whether it is repaired during the event or waits, and if repaired, how that is done while privacy is preserved.

Agreeing this beforehand prevents an awkward moment where nobody knows what to do.

Doors and entrances are planned, not left

Decide before the night: the guest door, the service door, where cars stop, and who stands at the entrance. An entrance visible from the street needs a screen.

Watch upper windows and overlooking balconies — often forgotten in homes and majlises and discovered late.

Photography is agreed in writing

This is the most important clause. State plainly whether photography is permitted at all, who photographs, and whether images are for the family only or some may be published.

Do not rely on a spoken understanding with the photographer. Put it in the contract, and tell guests with a polite sign at the entrance if phone photography is unwelcome — a guest who does not know is not at fault.

Sound and lighting from an internal control point

If controlling sound and lighting needs a technician present, agree that the control point sits where it can be operated from inside the event or from outside without entering.

Many systems today are run from a tablet — ask about that specifically when booking, not afterwards.

Hospitality needs its own route

The catering team enters and leaves throughout. Assign a route that does not pass through the seated guests, and an enclosed preparation area behind. If the venue cannot offer that, choose hospitality prepared in advance and served in one pass rather than continuous service.
