A flower that looks perfect in the shop at four in the afternoon can be hanging its head by ten at night. UAE heat and humidity cut a flower's life to hours, and the difference between an arrangement that holds and one that wilts is not price — it is choosing the variety and where it sits.

What lasts and what does not

From work inside UAE halls: orchids, anthurium and gerbera hold for long hours. Garden roses last if they stay chilled until installation. Hydrangea and peony are the most beautiful and the shortest lived — they need constant water and bow quickly outside refrigeration.

The practical rule: put the short-lived flowers within the first metre of the couple, where the close photographs are taken in the first two hours, and the durable ones at the edges and heights that stay in frame all night.

Natural versus artificial is not an ethical choice

Many people feel artificial is cheating. It is not — it is an engineering decision. Good artificial stems are indistinguishable in a photograph from two metres, allow heights that cannot be held with fresh flowers, and do not wilt through a six-hour event or an outdoor one.

We recommend a mix: fresh within the first metre where scent and close photographs are, artificial beyond it. It saves a meaningful amount without showing in any picture.

Season moves the price more than variety

Imported flowers out of season can cost three times their in-season price, and nobody sees the difference in a photograph. Ask one question: which flowers are local and in season this month? Then build the palette from those.

Watch major holidays too — flower prices rise globally around certain dates. If your event falls near one, book early or choose an alternative.

Colour changes under light

White drifts to ivory under warm light. Pale pink almost disappears under strong light and reads as white in photographs. Deep red swallows light and looks black when the room is dim.

Ask to see the flower under the same lighting that will be used, or a photograph from a previous event in similar light.

Where to spend and where to save

Spend on the first metre around the couple, the bridal bouquet, and the entrance — it is seen first and photographed most on phones.

Save on high kosha elements far from the eye, the edges of the hall, perimeter tables nobody sits at, and out-of-season varieties chosen for no particular reason.
