What the service is

Organising a group iftar: preparing the venue — tent, hall, courtyard or office — the iftar tables or floor seating, the seating plan and serving route, dates, water and coffee at the call to prayer, and the meals. Packed fasting meals are available on request; their number, source and delivery are set in the quotation.

Maghrib time

Everything must be ready well before the call to prayer, and the time differs by a few minutes between cities — see the city section.

Numbers

They set the number of tables, the serving route and the service team.

Venue

A ready hall needs arranging only; open ground needs a tent, flooring and lighting.

Meal style

Buffet, plated or packed — each changes the layout and the serving route.

Weather

In the coming years Ramadan falls in the winter months, so evenings are usually mild, with a chance of wind or rain that we allow for in anchoring tents and their sides.

Working in Al Ain

Our base is in Al Yarmook, Sharjah, and we serve Al Ain; we confirm the arrival time when you call, according to the site. If the tent stands on public land or outside the property line, or meals will be handed out to the public, the requirements are checked with the site management and the competent authority before confirmation.

Maghrib in Al Ain is within a minute or two of Dubai. We use the city’s official timetable to set the ready-by time.

In the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the TAMM platform lists two Department of Municipalities and Transport services: a permit to install a Ramadan tent (temporary iftar tents installed by companies) and a permit for a temporary Ramadan tent outside residential plot boundaries, applied for by the installing contractor with its trade licence. Who applies is agreed before confirmation; this does not mean a permit has been issued to us.
