Ramadan tent setup in Al Dhafra

What the service is

Putting up a Ramadan tent and fitting it out: flooring, Arabic or floor seating or tables and chairs, lighting and decoration — for family iftars, company iftars and Ramadan majlis, for one night, some days or the whole month.

For families hosting iftar or ghabga at home, companies and organisations holding iftar for staff or guests, and anyone running a Ramadan majlis through the month.

What shapes the setup

Duration

A one-night tent and a tent standing all month differ in how they are anchored and looked after.

Ground and space

Sand or paving, and the area, set the tent size and aisles.

Access to the site

The route for the delivery vehicle and the width of the gate or path decide how the pieces are carried in and the order of setup, so a photo of the entrance helps.

Cooling and air-conditioning

The number of cooling and air-conditioning units is set by the tent area and the number of people, and stated in the quotation.

Numbers and seating

Floor seating fits a different number in the same space than tables, so we propose the layout once we know the number.

Setup time

The tent goes up an agreed time before the first day and comes down after the last.

Weather

In the coming years Ramadan falls in the winter months, so evenings are usually mild, with a chance of wind or rain that we allow for in anchoring tents and their sides.

Working in Al Dhafra

Our base is in Al Yarmook, Sharjah, and we serve Al Dhafra; we confirm the arrival time when you call, according to the site. If the tent stands on public land or outside the property line, or meals will be handed out to the public, the requirements are checked with the site management and the competent authority before confirmation.

Maghrib in Al Dhafra comes six to ten minutes after Dubai, depending on the town. We use the city’s official timetable to set the ready-by time.

In the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the TAMM platform lists two Department of Municipalities and Transport services: a permit to install a Ramadan tent (temporary iftar tents installed by companies) and a permit for a temporary Ramadan tent outside residential plot boundaries, applied for by the installing contractor with its trade licence. Who applies is agreed before confirmation; this does not mean a permit has been issued to us.
